How Aashray Seva Kendra started

A small spark of thought can ignite remarkable change. Aashray Seva Kendra is a testament to how a simple idea, born from a desire to serve, can grow into a movement that touches countless lives.

On a fine Saturday morning in February 2013, over breakfast, Nixit Shah and his family decided to do something meaningful for senior citizens. This seemingly small idea gave birth to what would become one of our most impactful initiatives: the free tiffin service.

Launched on April 18, 2013, this service began delivering nutritious meals to needy senior citizens in Kandivali (W), ensuring they received proper sustenance.

What started as a modest initiative has, by the grace of God and the unwavering support of society, continued uninterrupted for over 12 years even during the challenges of the COVID19 pandemic, not a single day has been missed in providing this essential service. However, our commitment to social work did not stop with providing meals. Recognizing the need to structure our efforts and expand our impact, Aashray Seva Kendra was registered with the Charity Commissioner of India in 2014.

This formal recognition allowed us to obtain 80G Registration, enabling donors to receive tax exemptions for their contributions and furthering our capacity to serve the community
